February 6th, 2007 by e-tech

I’m no engineer or architect so the word CAD was strange to me when i met up with some friends and there were like ‘CAD’ this and ‘CAD’ that, so i decided to do some good old fashion Google search to satisfy my curiosity.

It seems that CAD stands for Computer-aided design and is used in a wide range of computer-based tools that assist engineers, architects and other design professionals in their design activities.I’m pretty familiar with Photoshop but this CAD programs are really cool.CAD is used to design, develop and optimize products, which can be goods used by end consumers or intermediate goods used in other products.

One of the other uses of CAD is for the creation of geographic information system (GIS)

Definition: A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a collection of computer hardware, software and geographic data used to analyse and display geographically referenced information.
