It’s not often the secretive Apple corporation make a slip up with their security, however rumors have surfaced around a young employee who apparently left his iPhone 4G in a bar, only for it to be picked up by some random individual who sold photos and demonstrations of the phone to some of the top internet technology websites!

As of yet we have received no details as to the innards of the latest test version of apples upcoming iPhone replacement, nevertheless we will keep a close eye on the preceedings for you to make sure you know the latest about the Apple iPhone 4G!

iLife’09 The Future of Photo Management?

As a long time windows user I have kept no secret of my distaste of Apple products. Unfortunately as the years pass it seems that the once restrictive controls of apple have begun to losen and I have found myself with less and less to crticize. They have brought out fantastic free software, they allowede a windows emulation for macs and they made some fantastic devices such as the iPhone and iPod, even if they still have some majorly pain in the ass restrictions on the music you place on them.For this reason I felt yet again disappointed as apple released yet another superb product, this time being the iLife ’09. iLife 2009 is an amazing piece of softwware for photo management with some impressive features and astoundinly well thought out designs.And while this great product has compatability with geo taggin on gps devices and improved events album management what really caught my eye was the Face Recognition functionality.Yes after tagging one of your friends you can not only set iLife ’09 to tage every other photo with your friend in it with one of those funky Facebook style squares but you can also upload them to facebook tagged. This means that there will be no more labourous tagging of facebook friends, you can simply upload your new photo’s to iLife ’09, it will tag all your friends and then you can put them straight onto facebook, with the tags and the location.This feature seems os brilliant to me that it may even convince me to take the plunge and by one of those overpriced incompatible mac things, or maybe not.

Apple iPhone 2 3G – The Rise or Fallacy of Apple?

This week the Release of the Apple iPhone 2 3G was announced by Steve Jobs at Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference.

The news was both sour and sweet, the sweet being 3G download speeds, GPS Tracking and Third Party applications, the sour however was very sour indeed.

Apples iPhone 2 can now only be bought on a 24 month contract, how many people keep one phone for that long? The worst part is may iPhone users will still be locked into an 18 Month contract they signed for a free iPhone.

The reasoning behind this is to keep a strangle hold of power on the distribution of the iPhone so the right people are making money out of it, and in the near future many people are forseeing a u-turn by apple similar to the removal of Apples DRM systems last year.

There are other little quirks that still have not been fixed, including thnigs such as Video capture capability, or even Multimedia messaging, something found in the most basic of phones for the last 5 years.

All in all there is a lot of disappointment in the air, though I do not doubt that apple will still shift a huge amount of these when the iPhone 2 is released on the 11th of July.

Fans of the Apple iPhone went frantic this weekend as pictures were released showing the Apple iPhone 3G in all its slim lined Glory.

While specs have still not been confirmed for the Apple iPhone 3G they are set to be impressive. One of the major drawbacks of the original iPhone was its slow download speed from the iTunes service, this looks set to be fixed with the broadband speed downloading offered by 3G. the Apple iPhone has been a fantastic product and has excelled in bot the US and European markets. Seeing a new, sleeker faster version of the IPhone 3G is something we are all looking forward to! It is however expected that the new Apple iPhone will be fully WiFi Compatable

Of course as with many early release photos there is a high chance that these may be fake, several people have noticed that the lock button is missing on the red phone. THere is however some Contention over this though as it would be expected that the ‘red’ version would be released later, as part of the anti – AIDS campaign.

iPod movies on a bigger screen!

The iPod is a great gadget to have for music and videos, it’s not exactly come with the largest display. Its screen that has QVGA resolution and 4:3 aspect ratio can be enough for album art visualization, however, it is a bit small for watching movies comfortably. Why buy another PMP with a big screen while you already have your iPod? Try some special Video Enlarger gadget accessory for it instead!

Apple’s latest offering is the their new laptop or simply called “MacBook Air”, Mimicking the 13-inch silhouette of the current MacBook line, it’s .76-inch thick at its thickest part. Apple calls it the “world’s thinnest notebook.”

Though the MacBook Air is not quite the thinnest laptop ever, it is among the thinnest ever seen (the Fujistu LifeBook Q2010 and the Toshiba Portege R500 both measure 0.8 inch thick, but neither tapers to 0.16 inch as the Air does).

The MacBook Air includes the usual iSight camera, an LED backlit display, an ambient light sensor, and a big touchpad that works with multitouch gestures, such as rotating a photo by twisting your fingers on the touchpad.

As for what’s inside this slim laptop, we’re looking at a 1.6GHz or 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, custom-made by Intel to fit into the slim chassis, 2GB of RAM, and a choice of either an 80GB standard 1.8-inch hard drive or a 64GB SSD drive (which really should be standard for something so forward-looking).

The Apple iPhone is set for release in the summer of 2007, they had alot of issues with that particular name ‘iPhone’ recently but it’s all been sorted out now.

A lot of people are gearing up to purchase the iPhone and I might just be one of them, theiPhone accessories are already rolling out and among them are the Bluetooth headset and wired headset. The new iPhone Bluetooth headset will work with other mobile phones in addition to the iPhone. It is expected the Apple will release additional iPhone accessories, but no word on whether they will be available at launch.

iPods To Be Outlawed on The Streets of New York

New York State Sen Carl Kruger says soon New Yorkers will be slapped with a US$100 fine if they are caught listening to an iPod or talking on a cell phone while crossing the streets.

New York State Sen Carl Kruger says three pedestrians in his Brooklyn district have been killed since September upon stepping into traffic while distracted by an electronic device. In one case bystanders screamed “watch out” to no avail.

Kruger says he will introduce legislation on Wednesday to ban the use of gadgets such as Blackberry devices and video games while crossing the street.

“Government has an obligation to protect its citizenry,” Kruger said in a telephone interview from Albany, the state capital.

I think it’s a good move, sure people like listening and playing with their digital devices but if it can cost them their lives than it’s just not worth it.

DIGIT recently reviewed the 17-inch MacBook Pro.The MacBook Pro is Apple’s professional laptop line, and the 17-inch MacBook Pro features a huge screen, Core 2 Duo processor and more than proves its mettle.

Skype 2.5 Beta for Mac

Mac users have been frustrated with the previous Skype version because it didn’t have the video conference calling feature, this is in fact quite a norm for Mac users who have to wait a little longer than their PC counterparts when it comes to the latest version of anything.

Apple Thinks “Global” For It’s iPhones

A rather intresting news concerning Apple’s forray into the phone market with it’s iPhone is that the company plans to sell the phone ‘unlocked’ which simply means that you are required to insert a GSM subscriber identity (SIM) card, the good thing about this move is that it now opens up most of the world as the target market instead of just the US.

If Apple decided to be tied down by the likes of Cingular or T-Mobile than there will not be marketing for the iPhone abroad, Apple could potentialy stand to make alot of money if they decided to go with Cingular or T-Mobile but they have decided to leave it ‘unlocked’.

On another note the iPhones are expected to be released within the first six months of next year as Apple has assigned the task of completing 12 million units of the iPhones to Taipei based Hon Hai Precision Industry Co.

This is cool news indeed, i’m looking foward to owning an iPhone sometime in the future

Apple Is Top Computer Brand

Apple has beaten the likes of Sony and Dell to claim top spot as the Top Computer Brand.

In a recent poll user said Sony and Dell were highly reliable but Apple has reliability and excellent customer support.Only a quarter of Dell and Sony owners said they were satisfied with their customer service.

“Expensive helplines take a toll on your pocket as well as your time. It would be good to see leading manufacturers following the example of independent stores by offering their customers a better service.”

Apple and Google to Conquer TV’s?

Apple recently announced that it plans to invade your TV’s with it’s iTv set-top box which will be hooked up to your television to give owners the power to break their music, movies, TV shows and other content free from the confines of the home computer or handheld, and stream that content to a TV set.

Rumor is that Apple is set to team up with search engine giants Google Inc who would be the primary provider of video content for the iTv box.It all looks very possible especially since Apple now has Google CEO Eric Schmidt on their board of directors.

“Google and all its competitors are focused on a three-screen approach right now, whether you’re accessing them or their content on a computer screen, on some kind of a handheld product or on your high-definition TV,” explained Ross Rubin, an analyst with the NPD Group.

In an article from MacWorld, an analyst has made it known that Apple’s venture into the mobile phone sector is not a joke and in fact Apple has developed an iPod with mobile phone features and will release the new product next year.

“We believe this phone has been in development for over 12 months and has overcome substantial challenges including design, interference, battery life, and other technical glitches,” he wrote.

“We believe that Steve Jobs is finally satisfied with the end product Apple engineers have produced in terms of quality and the right blend of phone and portable media player – and we are confident given his previous record of very high standards that this will be no exception,” he added.

The design will be an iPod nano-like “candy bar form factor” and come in three colours (black, white, and platinum), the analyst explained.

I hope the phone comes Skype ready too

Music Store by Samsung

Yet another online music store will be available for the masses as Samsung prepares itself to launch it’s very own music store to compete with Apple’s iTunes and the upcoming store by Microsoft to complement Zune.

Samsung plans to complement their store with their renage of MP3 players much like what Apple does with iTunes.

Samsung has tapped MusicNet to provide the library of songs for the store, which will likely offer both a monthly subscription and individual downloads. MusicNet currently powers Yahoo! Music Unlimited and MTV Networks’ URGE, which was developed with Microsoft and will be the primary service in Windows Media Player 11.

Do we really need another music store? what are they gonna offer that others haven’t?
Quiet a dumb idea if you ask me.

New iPod Nano by August?

The second generation of iPod Nano is set for release next month (August) and is set to unveiled by Steve Jobs at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference.

Nothing much is expected to change except that the new 2nd generation Nano will have larger capacity hard drives (probably 6GB and/or 8GB). They’ll also be available in a wide range of colours, including some that feature a full metal enclosure.

Separate rumblings suggest that Apple has procured a large number of 40GB and 80GB 1.8-inch hard drives for use in an updated 5G iPod. While it’s not known when an exact announcement regarding the higher capacity iPods might take place, the new models are not expected at WWDC.

Apple iTunes to offer Movie Rentals – soon

Rumors are that Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs is about to announce a new service for iTunes – Movie Rentals at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in three weeks time.

The key point in this (upcoming) news is that movies will be available for rental, rather than following the existing iTunes music formula of purchasing songs. Users will still download the media items (in this case movies), but will not own it. So options include a subscription or rental-based model – with Steve Jobs favoring the rental model.

Microsoft buys ZuneLive.com domain name

Zune if you don’t already know by now is Microsoft Inc’s version of Apple’s iPod.

ZuneLive.com follows in the vein of previous Microsoft domain – Live.com.

Looks like Microsoft’s stance is to add the word “live” in their products as Apple adds “i” to it’s range of products eg. “iPod”.

Some technical people decided to do a whois on the domain and found that the owner of ZuneLive.com was a certain man named Jack Spurr from Nova Scotia,that prompted many to disregard it from Microsoft because they never did register a domain under a person’s name instead they would always register a domain name under the Microsoft Inc banner.

But ZuneNation did a little research and found out that at least two other previous Microsoft domains were under the name Jack Spurr (Live.com and MicrosoftGadgets.com).

The Talking iPod?

There’s a bit of buzz on the net right now about Apple’s next move regarding their popular music player – the iPod.

According to rumors,the next step for Apple is to produce an iPod that talks!

According to the patent filing, Apple is billing the technology as a safety feature that will eliminate the need for eye-to-iPod contact in settings, such as driving a car or walking across a street, that require full attention.

Now..that would definitely set them above the rest,as the MP3 player market has been so saturated with iPod look-a-likes.
