While the trademark typo domain loophole has closed, a very legitimate and ethical domaining technique is pursuing keyword typo domains. Keyword typo domains (e.g., Mortgeges.com) can bring in a good deal of type-in traffic and are often significantly undervalued.

Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has terminated the Registration Accreditation Agreement (RAA) of Domain registrar Registerfly.com.

Effective immediately ICANN has terminated RegisterFly’s right to use the ICANN Accredited Registrar logo on its website.

Between now and 31 March RegisterFly is required to unlock and provide all necessary Authinfo codes to allow domain name transfers to occur. Any and all registrants wishing to transfer away from RegisterFly during this period should be allowed to do so efficiently and expeditiously.

“Terminating accreditation is the strongest measure ICANN is able to take against RegisterFly under its powers,” Dr. Paul Twomey, President and CEO of ICANN said today.

“ICANN has been frustrated and distressed by recent management confusion inside RegisterFly,” Dr. Twomey, President said. “I completely understand the greater frustration and enormous difficulty that this has created for registrants.”

That’s the beauty of the internet and tools for publishing i guess, when i was 12 i was still coming to terms with hair that i spotted in perculiar places, but not this boy because he is already making a healthy $500 a month from his tech blog – Techzi which is powered by Blogspot.

The enterprising David had roped in two of his buddies (one is 12, the other is 11) to help him write his blog and they are currently raising funds to transfer their blog to the WordPress blogging platform.

Last Friday Microsoft launched aggreg8, a social networking and collaboration space for the IT community.

aggreg8 allows IT Pros to “mix-n-mingle” and a forum for developers to share scripts, tools, or best practices, or even to just connect with others within the profession.

Kevin Remde, an IT Pro evangelist for Microsoft, wrote in a blog post announcing the service.Aggreg8 has no relation to the RSS reader project that carried the same name. Philip Roche, the creator of that program, was approached in July by Microsoft if he would sell the domain names. Both Aggreg8.com and Aggreg8.net were sold for $5,000, he said in a blog post.

Domain name is so common these days and can cost a mere $1.99 (Yahoo.com) or a little more upscale at $8.20 with Godaddy.com.

There are people out there who make their money directly from domains by parking their domains with sites such as Sedo, while parking their domain a single page containing text link (ads) will appear on the page and if a visitor clicks on it the owner of the domain will make some $$.

But instead of Sedo you could also choose to use Google’s Adsense for Domains

AdSense® for domains allows domain name registrars and large domain name holders to unlock the value in their parked page inventory. AdSense for domains delivers targeted, conceptually related advertisements to parked domain pages by using Google’s semantic technology to analyze and understand the meaning of the domain names. Our program uses ads from the Google AdWords™ network, which is comprised of thousands of advertisers worldwide and is growing larger everyday. Google AdSense for domains targets web sites in over 25 languages, and has fully localized segmentation technology in over 10 languages.

I don’t know if you’ve been through this, but i have…and what am i talking about?
Well it’s about domain names, i own a lot of domains some created into full blown sites/blogs while some just sit around doing nothing.

The intresting thing about this is i usually get good ideas for domain names and as usual would proceed to check with various methods if the domain was available for purchase.I don’t normally buy on the spot..i’m just not that kind of person, but somehow this past 1 year i have found out that almost every domain i serach for without actually buying it, would on the very next day be bought by somebody else..that really pissed me off, cause now i had to pay extra for something that costs just $7.20* the previous day.

Call me paranoid but i sincerely thought somebody was spying on my domain searching activities…and i was right!!

TechDirt reports that “Company Swiping The Domain Names You’re Thinking About Registering”, yes there are people spying on your domain search activities.

An excerpt:

For years, there have been rumors that if you do whois domain lookups on certain less-than-honest lookup sites, the owners of those lookup sites will quickly register those domains, hoping to resell them to you later at a higher price. That’s why many people are careful only to check for domain registrations on more trusted sites. However, it appears that some scammers may have figured out a way to get the search queries off trusted whois lookup sites.

So my dear friends if your into buying domains please take note of this, in fact i suggest you read the full article HERE.

Cheers.

* $7.20 domain name based on coupon code purchase at Godaddy.com

Commission Junction,Clickbank and PayDotCom,what do they have in common?
They are all great tools for affiliate marketing.

Today let’s look at PayDotCom,

Apparently, PayDotCom is an affiliate marketing tool that can be used by vendors and affiliate sellers.

If your a vendor seeking to sell your products with the power of affiliate marketing, than PayDotCom is a solution for you.One of the difference between PayDotCom and say..Clickbank is that PayDotCom supports both digital and physical products as oppose to clickbank that only supports digital products.

Among the advantages of selling with PayDotCom are:

Purchases pay instantly to your PayPal account.

Sell physical products and Digital Goods

Collect Subscriptions for your service or membership sites

Get Paid Instantly

For a full view of advantages, click here.

However if you are NOT a vendor but seeking quality products to promote and make some extra $$ as an affiliate, than PayDotCom is the place for you too with hundreds of quality products for you to start promoting and earn anywhere between 5% to 80%.

The other good part is PayDotCom is totally integrated with Paypal, which makes it easier for you to receive your commisions, instead of waiting for a check .

You can find out more on how to be an affiliate here.

I’ve personally tried PayDotCom for myself and have been promoting mostly ‘design’ stuff..like the ‘Photoshop -eBook’ & the ‘Illustrator Tutorial”.
It’s pretty much a decent income made from PayDotCom,maybe you can be succesfull with PayDotCom too…here’s to your success!

The deal is said to be worth $120 million.

Cnet reports that the world’s most populous nation has created domain names based on Chinese characters.

The creation of Chinese character domain names has led to speculation that China could break away from the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) completely, and undermine the global unity of the Domain Name System (DNS), the network of servers that resolves domain name requests.

nternet experts are concerned that this move will see China administrating its top-level domains with its own separate root servers, which could cause a split in the Internet.

“Fragmentation is a concern both to ICANN and us because of end-user confusion,” said Geir Rasmussen, chief executive of Global Name Registry, a domain name registration organisation that oversees the .name domain.
