Script Installation For Free

In my previous post i posted about the free video converting tool, and now it’s yet another free feature but this time around it’s installation of scripts for free.

I was informed by my friend Sridhar Katakam that he has started a new site – Script Install 4 Free and he plans to offer his services of installing PHP/MySQL scripts free of cost.

Some of the scripts he can install for you are:

1. Blogs like WordPress, Movable Type
2. Bulletin Boards like phpBB2, IPB, vBulletin
3. CMS like Joomla, Drupal, PostNuke
4. Gallery scripts like Menalto’s Gallery, Coppermine
5. Social bookmarking/rating system or Digg clone like Pligg
6. Any other PHP/MySQL script as long as it has installation instructions.

He did help me install the Pligg CMS a little while back on one of my sites and i was/am very happy with the installation.

Download videos from YouTube with YouRipper

There are doubtless many online and other freeware programs out there that allows you to download videos from YouTube but still i have the sudden urge to spotlight yet another freeware product known as the YouRipper.

This 3MB piece of program is a no brainer to use, just download it, install , just paste the URL of the YouTube webpage you want to rip into YouRipper and the video, in Flash Movie flv format is downloaded onto your PC.

The only one downside as far as i’m concerned is that it only works for Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP..bummer

Well than, AROUNDMe may very well be the script you are looking for

AROUNDMe is the perfect solution for you to bring people together around shared goals, activities and interests to form a shared knowledge network.The platform encourages participation in activities which introduces a person to like minded people. The AROUNDMe me script is still a wok in progress but you can download it and have a go installing it on your server, it’s a pretty nice script as far as i can tell but as the people behind it has pointed out there’s still some weeks to go before it is perfected and bugs are squashed.
